Drastic Effects of Hair Transplantation

Hair transplant is the most common procedure for treating the hair loss due to aging and genetic issues. Though, the success rate of hair transplantation is up to 98%, still it has many menacing effects on our health. In this treatment, hair follicles are taken from areas having enough hair and grafted into the area having less hair. Furthermore, it is a long-term method and follicles take almost 9 months to regrow completely. But yes, they stay with you for a lifetime just like your natural hair!

My mother got a hair transplant treatment from Dr. Habib Hair Transplant, Peshawar. Right after three days, she felt a severe itching in her scalp. Alongside itching, her hair follicles started swelling. We treated it as a common reaction to a transplant until it got worse.

It was the time when we realized what bad effects a transplant can leave on your hair and your scalp. When we went to the trichologists, they told us a lot about many benefits of hair transplant along with many side effects. If left untreated, the side effects can be threatening in the long run. Some of the most common and dangerous effects that you should be aware of are detailed below.

Some patients after the hair transplant surgery face severe pain in their scalp. However, these people are very less in number because most of the people feel it painless. The scalp is usually made numb during the transplantation. Still, you should know that you should visit a trichologist asap in case of pain in your scalp.

  • Severe Bleeding:

There can  be two methods of hair transplantation but in this procedure, your healthy hair follicles are removed from one area of your head and placed on another less hairy area. Thus, the areas from which follicles are removed become a bit bloody and swell. This effect is habitual for most of the people.

  • Itching in scalp:

When my mom got itching after her hair transplant, we went to the best trichologists in Peshawar. He told us that itching is the first ever effect you are going to face after a surgery. The itching body part is highly active and trying to heal. Thus, it will continue until the follicles are completely grafted and start growing. During this healing time period, your scalp is prone to various infections and any kind of virus or bacteria can penetrate through these holes. So, taking good care and adapting precautionary measures can help a lot.

  • Having headache more often:

The scalp becomes more sensitive after the surgery and sometimes it gets swollen. Due to this swelling, the blood vessels in the scalp also get swell. Hence, when your hair faces a pull on your head, you feel pain and burning in your scalp. The headache becomes more frequent during such early days.

  • Scarring:

Most of the people are unknown to the formation of scars before getting a transplant. The hair follicles are surgically extracted from your scalp so it will surely leave some scars behind. These scars appear as small white dots in the scalp. Sometimes scars are formed in the area at which follicles are grafted.

  • Irritable Dizziness

Drowsiness and dizziness becomes irritable when you are not well. The continual eating of medicine leaves some bad effects on your health. There can be different causes of tiredness like:

  • Most of the time, infections are the triggers of dizziness.
  • Some people might face drowsiness due to the side effects of the medicine.

In some transplant cases, a bump appears on your skin surface. It’s the point to ponder that a few ones are not easily treated once formed but most of the bumps are easy to treat if diagnosed on time. If neglected, skin bumps stay for the long term and can have many other infections. According to the top trichologist in Peshawar, the bump is formed due to an infection caused by a bacteria. It is full of the pus of fluid. It is also named a skin abscess.
